I reckon you are right Brian - the sleep without Mum is always a good indication of an impending fledge.
Hope all goes well for you and your GTs.

Brian I didn't realise how dark their heads are when so young until seeing your video. Blue Tits are a light grey colour when they fledge but GT's look as though they have adult colouring when they leave the nest am I correct?

My camera was installed in a hurry and its only getting a small view of the nest but at least I can see them all most of the time. Probably another day or two before they fledge as they don't appear to be ready today.

Another success. All 7 of my Gt Tits successfully fledged this morning between 8am and 8.30am Have seen a few of them in the trees and also parents coming back to the feeders for mealworms. The robin is sitting on I think 5 eggs since Monday so i have another nestbox to watch.

Great news Brian, my lazy sods are still in the nest, having great fun taking turns flying up and down to the nest hole, at this stage Iād love to go out and shake the box

That's great news, I'm really thrilled that everything went well with the last seven gt.tits. & as mentioned before, I'm envious that they return to feed, as well as your robin nest!

Due to hatch on Saturday. Last egg layed last Monday week. I read it's about 12 days incubation as I never had a robin in my nest box. Had a nest in nest box last year but it fell off the wall and she didn't return. No eggs in it .

That's a lovely sight to see. I'm looking forward to seeing those hatch. Robin's are such characters. We have a juvenile in the garden who now takes mealworms from my hand that is till Mum or Dad chase him off š¤š¤£

They always appear when I'm digging in the garden but never come to my hand. Must try it again. Will try and get some videos or pictures of nest up.

Really lovely photo Brian nice to see your season is extended as well. Do you think lockdown has had a positive effect on our wildlife garden seems to be more activity this year? Hope all goes well for this nest and she can keep it secret.
