One of our hog visitors lastnight, I seen him from the window just before I went to bed. I was so pleased because this is one I haven't seen since March (its got a little patch on its face the side facing away from the camera towards the window) I am so glad its still alive made my night when I seen it

I normally can tell mine by size Sammi, I have two currently sleeping in them boxes under the window all day for a month so them two are out each night. But most nights you get 1 or 2 passing through that aren't my "sleepers" This one is easy to tell because its got a patch one side of that is lighter in colour than rest of its face kinda creamy white big circle kinda looks like some kinda paint got on the fur or something or the fur is just extremely lighter one that side because don't think its that bright to be paint, I haven't seen it since the middle of March, So sadly i thought it had died, However not maybe it wasn't struggling for food so stopped making the travel back and forth! Camera I am using is just a cheap victure wildlife camera Sammi Its this one, Mine is only 12MP though looks like its been updated to 16MP these days. www.amazon.co.uk/Victure-Wildlife-Activated-Infrared-Waterproof-Camouflage/dp/B07H7D83PZIt only works in colour due to having lights under the window and porch, The lights are pretty bright so where the hogs eat is always lite up until I go to bed and turn everything off. If the lights aren't on it would film in black and white.

Awe great news, I wonder what he has been up to, so nice though when they appear after a time away. Have you got all the hogletts back from rescue Paul,?

No Karen The rescue told me in march that they are due to be released back into the wild for spring, But due to covid they was going to free them on the grounds of the rescue. Its got a huge waste land / woods on the back of the rescue so that is where they set them all free if nobody wants them back! Sadly due to the virus I couldn't collect so they let them go for me would of loved to have them back but its great they are in the wild again and getting to live how they should be. Have you had yours back or did they do same thing?

Little video of the trail camera in black and white Sammi, Turned the porch lights lastnight off to show you. I much prefer it in colour though better quality etc. Had a few hogs pasting through lastnight, No hoglet's yet though which I find strange! Anyone else had any hoglets? Last year I had them all showing up in September / October maybe it will be the same this year hmm?

Awe such a shame Paul, no I couldnt get Catherine back either due to the restrictions, they told me her foster carer released her in a hog friendly garden, so I guess that is good, but I was so looking forward to getting her home as you will have been too with yours. No sign of hogletts here although I have a small one that visits which isnt reliable on mum, but I would have thought a mum would have come with babies in tow at some point.

Trying these tesco chicken and rice biscuits out after a few hedgehog rescues recommend them, 75p a box they have 14% chicken in so like the purina one high meat. I'll let you know how they get on with them, If they like them I'll probably get these just for the hogs 6 boxes worth out at 3KG for £4.50 can't complain!

I fill all my hog houses full of hay Sammi, I don't use them for feeding so its just for bed only. Tesco chicken and rice kitten biscuits have been a hit here I am going to carry on buying them and have them just for the hogs.

Paul for this lovely clip. I like the way that all the s eat very slowly, taking their time & enjoying every single mouthful - the opposite of how our 2 labradors wolfed their food down in about 10 seconds flat, a wonder they didn't have indigestion after every meal!

New hog as finally used the hog feeder I made, Its over the other side of the garden. I made it out of an plastic under the bed storage container from home and bargain £2.99 a month or so ago. No takers, I did this to stop the food getting wet I know most do it to stop the cats but I am too soft and feed the cats aswell so not for that reason! However lastnight one was in and out of it until 5am this morning emptied the full bowl food so tonight i'll set me mini trail inside the feeder and a camera outside aswell. If it uses it again tonight i'll post videos tomorrow sometime Heres a little picture of the feeder
