Well finally got it on. I think my problem was that I was trying to copy two things to the notice board at the same time, forgetting that each new one erased the previous one. Don't forget to look at previous postings to get the info regarding the outside fledge.

Just an update from Beechnut
I have been keeping in contact with him via email, He hasn't got a nest so far this year so hasn't made a thread or nothing. He said he did have a female GT roosting all winter and even bringing in some moss but nothing for a while now I was talking to him today so thought I would let everyone know incase they are wondering where he is this year he is okay just no nest.

Yes, I'm still about - Hello everyone!
It seems we're all having mixed experiences with nesting or no nesting this year. The weather in different regions must be playing a big part in the hesitancy of some of our favourites to begin building/laying.
We keep having the thermometer dipping to zero or below at night - after vacating my wallbox a few nights ago the long term rooster was back again last night, so perhaps he will hang on a bit longer?
I haven't seen any activity in the cherry tree box which was dislodged in one of the storms in the autumn/winter and rehung earlier in the year, but when I switched the camera on to check for any activity in early March there was no picture, so I've given up on that for now - it still had the abandoned blue tit nest in there from last year when I did get a picture on the camera when it was hanging upside down after the storms.
The adapted box in the pear tree, in which I was hoping to get a robin nesting, was a complete failure - I built it last year while the tree was still in leaf, not realising that there would be little or no leaf cover in March/April time, so there has been no interest at all in that! I might try to re-site it in the conifer hedge which runs down the side of the garden for next year.
I'm still hoping for something in the wallbox this year, but I suppose, realistically, the chances are pretty slim now.
Anyway best of luck to all you guys who have got nests/eggs/chicks - I'll keep looking in on you!

Hi Beechnut, just glad to hear your keeping safe & well. Sorry to hear you haven’t got a nest this year, but it has been a strange one for some people. If it is to do with the fluctuating weather, then maybe nesting might start getting later and later, who knows eh?!

I found this fluffed up female GT in my Wallbox last night - she has been roosting on and off for some time, but had not been coming in when the temperatures rose above zero a week or two ago. Since the change in the weather recently, with the rain, hail, thunder and lightning and gales, she has taken refuge in in the box again and a lot earlier than dusk - she was actually well fluffed up in this pic at 7-45pm!

I very much doubt it Ann, I reckon she is a last years hatching who hasn't found a mate as she has been roosting (I think) since last October until March - then intermittently until now.

Brilliant Beechnut. How did you manage to get such a good shot? Is there a viewing gallery? Sue

They have a camera mounted on that roof Sue, operating online 24/7.
A nesting box was initially built in an area, similar to those at various Cathedrals and Churches around the UK, but these birds decided to find their own nesting area, and fortunately it was in a place that afforded 24 hour viewing and although it wasn't possible to see the eggs and the hatching, (the nest is in the doorway in the front wall, but there is about a 6 inch drop to the floor inside, where the nest is) the chicks are now highly visible for long periods outside the nest.
