Just what I thought Sue, it won't be long before the wing exercising starts!
Meg seems to be doing most of the feeding at the moment, pretty much constantly from the 'Scott Feeder' in the plum tree. She can do the round trip in 10-12 seconds, giving Tim 6-8 mealies, then breaks off for 20-30 minutes!

He seems to be growing visibly every day. It won't be long before he's hopping about outside the cup. I ordered some full sized mealies which might come tomorrow or Monday, to give Meg and Mac less work for the final 4 or 5 days in the nest and easy feeding for the fledgling. In the event of a new clutch being started the day after fledging , as last year, there will be food close by for Tim, if needed. Here's my boy this morning ......

Tim finally made it out of the nestcup today and had a little wander in the nest area. The first move towards fledging.

Thanks Guys - Paul, the fledging day is a bit on an enigma, seeing as we had all the unusual events of only 2 eggs laid 9 days apart, then the 22 hours off the nest in one go during incubation, coupled with the fact that with only one to feed, would that have any affect on fledging date? - I reckon any time between Wednesday and Saturday!

Here's a pic of Meg and Tim in the nest area to give a rough comparison of size.

Is there no end to the saga - 2020?As we are getting to the stage where Tim will quit the nest, Meg was busy trying to get him out of the cup this morning and his wings exercised...... but there was an ulterior motive in her urgency.
When she had got Tim to move, this is what was displayed.....

Hi Beechnut I'm slowly catching up with the goings on. I love your pic of Tim and Mum. Hope he fledges safely 🤞🤗 I've just done a double take. I thought that might be an old egg and then I read your post properly 🤗🤗👍

Thanks Sammi - Yes, I was as surprised as you to see the egg this morning. I thought last year was unusual to start a second clutch the day immediately after the chicks had fledged, but to start before fledging is something else.
I am keeping everything crossed that there will be a much larger number in the nestcup than the first time around when incubation starts!
