Nell has laid 6 eggs up to now but is not incubating yet so perhaps more to come? Difficult to see eggs up until yesterday with all the dog hair obscuring the view. Think one day she didn't lay any at all if my calculations are correct. Have ordered my Mealies last week hopefully they will arrive soon. Starling box getting visits but no takers yet if at all!

Someone’s dog must be looking a bit sparse for sure . Ample coverage for the nest though. Brilliant stuff. Sue

Thanks Taz, Sue, GBH, Benn, Paul & Helen. Helen- No I hope not there will be enough in that nest with what Nell brings in with her. Benn - I hope you are right but I am happy with what I have if not. As long as Nell & Moss are happy I am. Paul- Yes we are okay but having hubby around all day is driving me mad! totally thrown into confusion! Sue- Nell is still coming in with more fluff and feathers, never had such a hairy nest! the chicks will be sweating cobs if she is not careful! Taz -I wait with bated breath to see if this bird is a staggered layer- well we have had staggered fledging so why not? GHB - Yes, there may be more eggs to come but the Starlings are not as in abundance as last year -hmmm I am trying to read all your posts when I have time so please bear with me. Kathy x

Looks like Nell has stopped at 7 eggs and appears to be incubating today but she is a difficult bird to read so who knows? Ooops just counted 8 - Should have gone to Specsavers!!!

Great news Kathy, I like 8, less stress watching the parents trying to feed all, particularly when the weather is bad.

Helen Thanks for your message hope we don't lose any chicks this year but we probably will. My mealies are up and running but there doesn't seem to be many birds about. How are you doing in Ireland?

Perfect Kathy, Second video made me laugh, get me of your case Nice little video of your boxes aswell, Didn't realise how high your higher wall one was! Thats how high most my boxes are that are most successful aswell, Apart from the purple tree box of course which always pulls through. Keep the videos coming! P.s Nell nest looks really comfy!

Thanks Sammi & Sue, just a bit of fun to lighten your day. I have a smaller garden at the rear which I cannot put a box because it faces west and would be too hot. My bat box is on the wall but not sure if it has residents. Nell laid another egg this morning so we have 9 now which is about average for us. Paul - I was only messing with you, you know I have a funny sense of humour!
