Hi all, Sorry for not updating for a long time. Some other things took over here. The young great tits are 3,5 weeks gone now, there is an empty nest .. I dont know how many chicks there were. The male great tit was not seen after 2 weeks but the female did make it and all flew. No 2 brood here without a male I think but you never know. See you next year then with a new camera and perhaps new box from green feathers or I use the old boxwatch with the new camera, good luck to you all, greetings Tom.

Hi all, Some time ago I bought the big box from Green feathers, a beautiful box, and also a camera for TV from them. Also the led light. Negative was the camera has no audio and I bought also a microphone from them. A lot of cabling outside the box is not nice to see. The box is placed against a wall so nothing you can put the cables behind. I dont like the view. I am now looking to gardenature for a box and camera. They have some plas5tic in their boxes where you can put the cables behind, which box is the best for this you think ?, the flat one or the one with the pitched roof, also I want the led light in the box, what is the best place for that, is that possible with these boxes? ? . Or use the box from green feathers and bought the camera from gardenature with the camera cabling for a big part in the nestbox ? Hope you can give me some ideas, thanks already Hope you all do fine, greetings Tom.

Hi I took our Boxwatch set up down as the fence is due to be fixed and so I've been able to take some pics of how we adapted it for a garden nature camera. We bought the plastic tray from them and modified the light plate to take the camera. The light was fixed to the bottom of the plate. We made a wooden triangle end plate to make it all fit snuggly. Hope the pics help. Not sure what to recommend as regards your new box/camera. My newer boxes are the apex Garden nature ones. Will post some pics shortly

Thanks Sammi for posting the pictures of the Boxwatch-box, it helps The box looks great. I think I will give it a try also. Did you superglue the wooden triangle end plate and did you use the same 12 mm thickness plywood for it . Good weekend, Tom.

Hi there Glad the pics help. The wooden triangle came from an Aldi box that was falling apart. The plastic camera tray was screwed to it through the camera bracket if that makes sense. There are pre drilled holes for the screws in the end of the tray. It is worth a go if you have a spare camera. You may find an easier way🙂

Tommy contact them - gardenature.co.uk/contactand tell them you want to buy a replacement camera tray for the apex box they will then tell you how to go about it, They don't actually sell them on the website. However you could buy the feeder panel and when checking out it will give you a option to "add a delivery note" after speaking to Simon or Ange (owners) you can add note saying spoke to bla bla please send apex camera tray instead and they will ship that out instead. Just make sure you contact them first so they know the order is coming and they will do that for you.

Hi Tommy and Paul. Yes that's what we did. They were very helpful when I explained what we were trying to do. I'd forgotten that the camera trays aren't listed as an accessory. 🤣

Hi, I mailed Gardenature and the answer I get from Simon was that they only supply this type of product on proof of the damaged gardenature one you currently have, you must send an image so they can see what one(flat/apex) it is. Bad luck but thats the way it is I think. However, I did buy a new flat birdbox with camera from them, next week I got it

God knows why they didn't just send you the tray, Sounds like they thought you was asking for it for free or something haven't a clue. Flat roof box is a good choice though, My most popular boxes by Gardenature.
