Oh Sue I do hope your birds are just keeping you in suspense. Dont blame yourself. You'll never know if it was anything to do with the box or not I suppose. They will be back I'm sure 🤞

When I saw your post I thought this is it it's started for Sue, but like you I was disappointed. Nothing much else you can do but at least you can enjoy other nests on here but not much consolation is it. Pity you cannot hold Matt's hand.

Ha ha, how embarrassing, being given a promotion for being a chatterbox . Must be honest Helen, I would rather have had a nest. Didn’t realise there was another ‘rank’, . My husband was not surprised to know I do the most talking !! Sue

Thanks Diane, Sammi Kathy and Ann, I turned green a while ago - Green with envy for all these nests on here . Seriously I didn’t even realise i’d done so many posts. Tells me how much of my life I spend on this forum. . Awaiting news about my daughters blue tits. They had a fright when a cat managed to tip the box sideways (only hung on by one screw 😱), but they righted it and the birds just carried on as normal. In my estimation they should be right on fledging, but as can’t see for myself no way of knowing for sure. Had one casualty yesterday as a dead chick was posted out of the hole , but am assured that a lot of noise coming from box so hopefully a good clutch will make it . Sue

Congrats Sue. Maybe a nest next year. I hadn't any for last two years, so maybe next year will be lucky for you.

Hi Helen, Kathy, Brian, Taz and Ann, thank you all for hoping I have a nest next year but guess time to admit that this year was probably my last chance - hence hubby got more sympathetic to me having two camera boxes up. We have been talking for a while about retiring into a flat because our bungalow and garden with so many hedges etc is a lot of upkeep and hubby so fussy with it all. Takes up so much of our time and he wants to do a good bit of travelling before we are incapable. We agreed that we would not put the place on the market until after nesting season, and when I had so much interest early on I was hopeful this was to be ‘my year’, but didn’t turn out that way Then lockdown came and my heart gave a little flutter that ‘maybe’ we would have to stay put a while longer and who knows- maybe next year........... But, now estate agent are up and running again it looks likely we will be putting the place on the market - appointment already been booked by himself so here goes. In the event we do manage to sell and find the right flat it is quite unlikely to have the correct space for a bird box (or two), but I will be trying obviously. Year after year I have hoped and hoped but just wasn’t to be. Have so enjoyed (and still will do) everyone else's boxes, but thought I had now better admit why this year was so important to me and all these lovely wishes for ‘next year’ probably are not going to happen. Truth is, my dear hubby has tried to be patient re the birds when he really isn’t interested himself and his obsession with everything in its place has been tried to its limits with my little ‘hobby’. Now just have to hope we can’t sell Sue

Sound like a plan? Dorset here I come!

Oh wow Sue...that is quite the update!!!
Big changes ahead for you in the next year so.
I wish you the very best of luck with your house sale and success of finding the perfect flat to suit you both....the whole house sale/ purchase process still being fresh on my mind of course.
I really hope it goes smoothly for you...think of it as a new adventure!!!
I'm gutted that you didn't get your nest this year...again, a feeling I know oh too well.
Why didn't those birds just oblige you this once!!!!
Keep us updated!
