Thanks Kathy , but I think my chances have gone. Wasn’t meant to be, such a shame but such is nature. Try as we might we have no control over it. Glad so many others now have nests though. Sue

Paul, you are a nutcase - but we love you . Should have left that box up in the first place instead of worrying about cameras! Maybe, I would now be ‘wondering’ what was going on inside instead of seeing ‘nothing’ going on inside . The thing is I actually asked hubby to take down my lucky box and replace it with a camera one - so can only blame myself. My daughter just messaged me to say the blue tits building in her garden have been disturbed in the night - the box was at a weird angle with a cat sat on fence above it. Cat shooed off and tried to gently straighten the box and a blue tit flew out, obviously scared. First time they have had a box as always scoffed at me. Now they are saying “Maybe we’ll try this or that next year” !!!, and sounding like they’ve got the bug (not the Corona one). Sue

Sue im loving all the banter and humour, it doesn't take long to get the bug. at the moment im so tempted to turn my camera box in another direction, while its still time, hubby is willing to do it which is a positive, it can't make things any worse than they are. who knows i might get a wonderful surprise and have some new bird numbers pass over my garden.

You'll have to let us know if the BT comes back for your daughter Sue.
Ann, If you want to swap them around i'd go for it, We are getting "late" into the season now, So change won't do you no harm. Still another 2 weeks or so for a "late nester" or a pair who's had a disturbed nest elsewhere, Also GTs have second broods sometimes so you never know.

Sue, I’m afraid I’m with you this year, no nest for me, On the note of your lucky box which has been taken down, maybe next year will yield a nest in your camera box when the birds realise this box is a good safe Place!! Elle xx

Few of us this year Elle, such a shame , at least I was able to have a rooster for several months and lots of video clips of all the visitors to my camera box 😊, so not all bad. Sue

Oh Sue I really had high hopes for you this year with your new set up what are they playing at? Elle and Springtime seem to be in the same boat. Not that many birds in my garden yet, perhaps when chicks arrive it will be a different matter? Commiserations to you all.

Yes Paul, nothing to report here . The ironic thing is my son , who lives nearby has great tits nesting ( and I can’t go and see because of lockdown), and my daughter who has never been interested has got blue tits nesting. Yes, they came back after the cat incident and my son in law has now put prikka strips on top of the fence above the box, and all painting on fences nearby have ceased for the season - not interested - my ar*e!!! They have done a complete u turn on the whole birdie thing Sue

I have googled the 'Prikka Strips' another option for next years bird safeguarding. Thanks for the mention of them. Yes, I think your children might be too proud to admit it....but....they've caught the bug!! No doubt about it.... ha,ha!!

Feel partly my fault Paul for not sticking with my tried and tested ‘lucky’ box and trying for camera only boxes, which is obviously just for my own pleasure and not for consideration of the birds. Glad was of some use re prikka strips GBH 👍🏻 Think my family have definitely got the bug now, and after all these years of taking the mickey out of me Sue

Oh Sue, I really feel for you, you’re the person who most deserves a nest. The local birds don’t know what they’re missing
