Good stuff Amanda! Can I ask what PC software you are using to monitor the boxes? I am moving to a surveillance type system for next season. Currently playing with iSpy, which seems OK (especially since it is free), but interested in other options.

Good stuff Amanda! Can I ask what PC software you are using to monitor the boxes? I am moving to a surveillance type system for next season. Currently playing with iSpy, which seems OK (especially since it is free), but interested in other options. Hi Matt, That screenshot was from my iPad. I have 15 camera in all, some hikvision cctv and the others are wildlife. I am using a Hilook NVR (which is a hikvision rebadge) and I use the hik-connect app on my iPad. I leave my camera’s on 24/7 all year round. I can just look on my iPad using hik-connect to see live streams or motion detects, so don’t use any streaming company, my NVR does all that for me. The cameras I am using are: I have found a great solution to run 2 camera’s from 1 cat 6 cable. This runs 2 of the birdbox cameras. The cat 6 cable goes to a POE switch box. This is great as I have been able to make use of the cables already outside. The LINOVISION Mini Passive 2 Port POE Switch has made it a lot easier to add extra cameras - which Paul might find handy if he expands his IP camera range. Theses are the POE switches I use (I have a few of these!) Give me a shout if you need any help with anything

Thanks Amanda! Fancy rig you've got there.. I am moving over to a central system like yours for the first time this year - I used to have raspberry pi's in each box that would record their own footage. This/next year I will keep the pi's, but set them up as IP cameras and probably use my PC as the server, running iSpy. I might add one of those green feathers IP cameras into the mix though for the new starling box, since it is not easy to get power to and I can run a long network cable.. the only issue then is how to get power to a light, so I need to think about it a bit more. Maybe I just run it on IR and see how it goes? How do you find your GF camera without a light?

There is a power plug to power a light

Amanda Hope you are staying safe, take care Ann Hi Ann, awww than you for asking I hope you and your family are well and keeping safe? We fine thank you, I’m working from home still doing Test and Trace. I’ve move from the isolation calls to contact tracing T2. It suits me to work from home.....such a hard commute though, from the kitchen to the study. The only downside is that I’m doing 40 hours and some distressing calls

Happy New year to you all...... let’s hope that 2021 is better than 2020!
I had a double visit in my garage bird box yesterday and I think it was a new rooster in last night
My hedgehogs have now disappeared. I haven’t seen seen them since the 27th December
Stay safe xx

Hi all, I have 4 boxes with camera’s, currently I have a great tit rooster in my tree bird box and a blue tit rooster in my garage bird box. They have been with me since early November 2019 Here are my boxes set up all ready to go, apart from putting an LED light up in my newest box. The LED’S have almost doubled in price! Anyone know where to get them reasonably priced? This year I also have my cameras linked up to the Amazon Alexa Show 8’s (which I’m quite addicted to!!) - I’m willing to help anyone who wants to connect their camera’s to an Amazon Alexa Show / Firesticks if they have an IP Camera (The picture looks rubbish for some reason) Good luck to you all with the new season , I can’t wait to see what is happening in everyone’s bird boxes Hey!how did you set this up with Alexa? I have the green feathers cameras but cannot get them to show up and then view on my EchoShow
