Oh my goodness Sammi five boxes!!! I feel very lucky because I have two this year . Picture of your rooster is adorable - that is if you still have the same rooster lol. Never seen a fight in a box of my own yet - not something I want to witness . Good luck for the coming season. Sue

Lovely pictures Sammi. My pics are not that clear and I think I may have moved the focus on the camera whilst trying to clean. However glad to accept any picture if I get a nest. Don’t think I dare go back and adjust as don’t want to upset my rooster again. Sue

Hi Sue, I know what you mean. Maybe when they build that glorious deep nest the focus will be just fine.🤞i usually find the mid afternoon is a quiet time to get any maintenance done but I do always worry I'll put them off. My cleaner is well on with the job now (saving me risking the ladder😂) I do wonder what goes on though? I wonder if I've always had a female rooster and she just didn't have the energy for house keeping in the awful weather. She probably used it all up just keeping fed and warm 🤔

After few days she removed all the poo again and she's kept on top of it again now.

Hi Elle Thank you.🙂 Yes I've got everything crossed. 🤞 Only one pair though at the feeders that I can make out compared to 5-6 bluetits. I'll be grateful for a nest of any description though🤣 Good luck with yours.

Lovely pictures Sammi, looking positive. I hope you manage to tell mr and Mrs apart, I can never tell the difference - but then mine are usually from outside and through a camera lens and they don’t stay still long enough for me to study . My rooster is very distinctive as white blotches on back of his head so IF he gets a female to nest in this box then at least I may stand a bit of a chance telling who’s who. Good luck at yours. Sue

And we are off😊👍😊🎉First bit of straw and moss in a box we put up as an after thought really tucked away on the corner of the house. Of course it's the one that isn't connected up to the pc monitoring and just by chance I put it on just now. I'll see if I can remember how to upload a video🤣🤔

Brilliant Sammi! Looks like most are seeing first material now You've got to upload your video to youtube first then put it on here the little icon to add a video is next to the one you use to add a photo.

Hopefully you can see this. Only a little bit of moss ....who would think it could make me so happy. Thanks Paul I remembered how but it took some churning of the old grey matter.👍🙂

Hi folks Things have not progressed here but it has turned cold. A bit more activity today but nothing much. A bit of cleaning in the patio box where the rooster sleeps. I'm looking now into improving my system and investing in a dvr. Now folks what else will I need to post videos etc. Is there extra software needed and is it expensive? I used to have a live feed set up through my icatcher software on the pc but sadly the old thing isn't up to it anymore. Can the footage from the dvr be put out there? The village I live in has reacted so much to the very poor video I put on our local fb board that I think I owe it to them to get better footage out there. One lady said she was looking forward to using the updates to home teach her little ones. The older residents too are looking forward to updates (no pressure little bluetits!) I think I have with your help found a dvr set that I could afford but I dont really know it's full capabilities. It will take up to 8 of my type of cameras. My existing pc set up takes four. I have never before longed for a nest as much as I am now 🤞🤞

Can you post what the end of you camera plugs look like, that will depend very much on what video recorded you can use I use POE IP cameras, so I use network cable from my camera in to the back of my NVR (network video recorder) the network cable is the only cable I use as it powers the camera too. You need to have POE (power over the Ethernet) cameras. This cable, via my camera also powers my LED light. This is the camera I use, this comes with the power needed to make the camera work: POE bird box cameraI have never used BNC or phono connections, so I wouldn’t be much help with those.

Hi Amanda At the moment the av connectors go into BNC adaptors into the video card in my pc. So it is a BNC connection. I think I've found an 8 channel DVR that wont break the bank. Its one like Ben's. I'm hoping it won't require too much assistance from a pc though to deal with software?
