Excellent Sammi - so nice to see they are keeping so close together in your garden.
And hope for something positive with the robin.

Thanks Beechnut and Springtime...well we put our 'mobile' nature cam in place close enough to see (but not close enough to cause disruption ). And there is a robin going in.😊 Sooo I'll keep an eye on it and keep my fingers crossed.

Omg...that keeps happening.... I was referring to your photo about the chicks on the fat ball....I go to post my comment and then a whole other page of posts appear afterwards, making my comment look insane!!
Good luck with the robins...
Still haven't got around to setting up my 'mobile' nature cam yet....I even bought a 10ft long micro usb cable and everything. My main issue is I can't find the old phone I had in mind for this purpose... Its an absolute mystery as to where it has gone?

Thanks folks. The nest box is about 1m from the ground. I am so pleased as it really was a matter of finding a home for an old spare box rather than just store it away🤞 I have ordered a small outside camera that I may put in a better place after hatching (Only if I can be sure I won't spook them) The camera on them now is too big to put closer. I haven't seen a male come and feed the sitting female yet but I've read that this is common?

I turned on the camera just in time to witness the egg shells being disposed of. Whoopeee now I know where the nest is at. The video is from the monitor on full zoom using my phone so it's not the best quality. I always manage to get my finger in

Thanks Beechnut and GBH. Yes I couldn't believe my eyes. The nest has been extremely quiet with only mum popping out to feed. I've seen Dad today bringing in some food so everything is as it should be. Mini mealworms on order and adults taking the regulars (sometimes from my hand.) If our little waterproof camera ever arrives we can feed it in from the back over the box without disturbing the cover for them. The box is attached to the back of a little trellis fence. Well that's the plan. 🤞

Great clip Sammi - even with your finger! Thanks for the update too & hopefully your waterproof camera won't be much longer.

Well I haven't seen any activity today around the robin's nest. The nest entrance is partially obscured by the shrubbery and I thought for a while that they were just using a different route to get to the chicks but if I zoom in as far as I can I think it looks like the nest has been disturbed. The latest footage I have was from yesterday when they were both visiting and I assume feeding and then nothing I am hoping I'm mistaken but I do fear the worst.

As there was absolutely no activity around the box I stuck my head into the shrubbery and this is what is left of the nest. So sad.

That's a bummer Sammi - of all the nests on here this year, it appears the robin's is the most vulnerable, so sorry.
