They are still there and my heart just froze as did all the chicks as there was a sound on the roof. I quickly went to check as a magpie flew off. Not sure my heart will take this much stress I'm not sure of this allowed on here so please let me know Admin? My hubby and I fundraise for the rspb by looking after pin badge boxes in the area and they bring in well needed funds. Obviously all of our sites have been closed so I've set up a Justgiving page for the people following the nest in the village via Facebook. Would it be ok for me to put the link here? Funds go to rspb fundraising.

Crumbs Sammi, I'm not surprised you & the chicks all froze! What a good job you heard the sound too & managed to get out to get rid of the magpie. Although you are stressed over this, just look on the bright side - things may have turned out badly if you hadn't heard the sound. yahoo_clap

I know Diane but I suppose he's had his eye on the nest for a while. If only they weren't so vocal

That was a close shave Sammi, just as I thought the chicks were busy trying to say you aren’t near the hole to the chick maybe it was a little warning they kept chirping Have they left now

The video of the chicks was from a little earlier. That's how they've been most of the day. Ones been doing a bit if perching practice from window to window. I wonder if they will go this evening?

Here is number 7. He was reluctant to go but after a final pep talk from Mum or Dad he finally took the plunge

Oh Sammi blasted Magpies! you want them gone when youngsters are about. It must have heard them cheeping and followed the sound. I always shout out the window after fledging 'Well your'e on your own now so stay safe from maurauding Maggie & Cats. neighbours must think who's she talking to? Glad for the birds and you that they fledged safely into the garden well done to them.

Thanks for all the good wishes. We can hear the chicks in a nearby tree and mum and dad are coming for mealworms still. I really felt empty today after watching them go yesterday so we hope to get a glimpse of them soon. I'm fundraising for the rspb via a justgiving page. I left it a bit late really as I only thought of it in the last few days of the nest. I've shared it with my Facebook friends as I've been sharing updates there. Could I post it here too? If anyone would like to donate a couple of pounds it would be great. www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Sandra-Martindale

Lovely video Sammi. Must be quite daunting taking that first flight, no wonder they sometimes have second or third thoughts. Sue
