my chances have passed, both the great tits and blue tits are nesting elsewhere, probably a natural place, as no one has nest boxes here.they have been collecting the wool to line their nests from my garden i have no other birds, i can only hope for a 2nd brood from great tit or a failed nest. the only other chance if the wren shows up. (it was late April last year when he built his nest here, he maybe busy building all the others right now )

This week is "last chance saloon" - sending you all the luck in the world for this coming week, that the birds make a U-turn and decided to nest at yours.

Thanks GBH, not sure that it will, there is a lack of birds here, but hope you get a u turn with yours over there in beautiful Ireland, by the way what is your name, it seems impersonal to call your GBH

i know, the idea just popped into my head today so i just acted on it, i gave it no thought what's so ever. i will just wait and see, , amazed my hubby did it ive got my outdoor camera facing the box, so i will know even if a bird land on the front even if nothing becomes of a nest

So hope this move of box brings luck your way Ann, someone was interested enough to have a look so everything crossed . Not a sight nor sound of a blue tit here. Have robins nesting in the hedge so will keep an eye out for chicks, also blackbirds that insist on ripping up our lawn looking for goodness knows what . Sue

Sue it may be the only look it gets, but i will keep looking. we have a pr of robins, feeding their young in the ivy bush on the other side of the boundary fence, in next doors garden also blackbird feeding her young in the same ivy bush just at the front of the same fence. they are fairly close by when you see them in and out of the bush i put out grated cheese which they love. its good to see them around the garden

Wouldn't it be wonderful if the birds were given an extension to their nesting season, it would lift all our spirits while we have our extension. Another sunny day to enjoy hopefully. have a good day everyone

You ever thought about putting a box on your house wall Ann? Might open it up to a sparrow who has up to 3 broods a year, Apart from my tree box which is used yearly, my most popular boxes are on the house walls right under the eves. Maybe due being so high up and away from danger I don't know, Just an idea for you.
