No progress here Ann, couple of visits to pick up poo after my rooster left, but no new material being brought in. Wonder why building not beginning with this glorious sunshine. Perhaps they know something that we don’t. Sue

Sue, they know far more than we do, maybe they know we are having wintry showers on Friday, also i reckon mine are waiting for the supply of caterpillars from the trees. well the fact we are behind everyone else Sue, we will keep the nesting season going for a bit longer, that's if we get started sometime soon, it gives me hope knowing that im not on my own

No material here either. The trees look nowhere near the leaves coming out yet

Hi! Yes, perhaps they do know something??? Theres noticeable difference this week...everything has slowed down completely at mine...no material being brought in and hardly any visits to the box by herself...

Same here, very few visits and definitely no new material, whereas my son says he has a pair of great tits storming ahead with building - unfortunately as things stand I won’t be able to see for myself this year. Sue

its been painfully quiet here for the last 3 day, earlier i noticed a blue tit on the front of one of the boxes, then in the next min a pr of blue tits in the climbing rose near my sideview box. ive only seen the great tits on the feeders, not sure if they have started nesting, if they have its not in my boxes. im hoping to see something exciting soon.

Quiet, quiet, quiet...that seems the norm this week across the forum. Maybe they are on 'Spring Break'?

another bright sunny day, think we all need the birds to entertain us at this time being at home, but until the cold snap is over this won't be happening. i just keep watching the pr of robins who have a nest, ive a feeling she maybe sitting on her eggs now the blackbird must be sitting also as ive not seen much of her either

Still same here Ann, very quiet. Weather been lovely last few days but due to get very cold by weekend so if birds haven’t been stepping it up in the warmer days then not likely to whilst the cold snap comes either. Wishing my life away now. Roll on warmer weather . Sue

Yes Sue, we are looking at well into next week before we even hope anything is going to happen, the last two days ive taken a step back from looking as its been so quiet, if i kook up and see anything it will be a bonus. before i was hardly moving either watching the screen or looking up the garden, i was making myself a bit ,so like you say roll on the warmer weather and lets get some action im enjoying listening to them singing from the trees im spring cleaning and looking after my orchids

I'm so puzzled why things haven't started here, i know the temperatures are rather cool, plenty of visits for food, they must be tanking up for all the energy they need to build their nests. what is keeping me going is knowing that others are still waiting

Same here Ann, really puzzling. As you say, if it weren’t for others still waiting I would be giving up hope. Really thought I was going to have a nest this year when first bits of material arrived, but very little has happened since. In fact last few days there have been no sighting of birds to talk about. Come on warmer weather, we need the oak trees out and something to gee up the birds.

it is tiresome waiting isn't it Sue, now we have heavy downpours here which isn't going to help us or the birds, we certainly need the springtime temperatures, keeping hoping Sue, surely they will use our camera boxes

Not much action here since Thursday apart from the occasional inspection. But our nest building seldom starts up here until later in April. The North/East wind was bitterly cold this weekend so no surprise things have slowed for many.
