Paul, its not possible we live in a house that is 118years old and the bricks are solid and difficult to drill through. i haven't thought about next year yet, but i may just change the position they face, they are north facing just now. i dont have any other places they can go

Just one visit on the side view box from the male great tit The pr were together this morning, he waited for her to fly off then he checked the box,I wonder if he was looking for a home for the 2 brood I am not really expecting it to be used now but they keep us guessing

Good morning I'm getting more frustrated with the starlings, i have tried so many ways to stop the starlings getting into the cage bird feeders, i feel i will lose my blue tits and great tits coming to the feeders. i have reduced the feeding station, can anyone recommend a starling proof feeder than i can get on line, i would be so happy if there is one out there im prepared to pay however much to put them off

I’ve got a temporary solution, I’ve taken away my caged feeders from feeding station and put a dome on top of the circular caged ground feeder, so the robins and great tits and blue tits can get in

Depends on your feeding station Ann, mine is one with hooks and I hang Scott feeders on so only the small birds can get in and a separate table for Blackbirds etc. Luckily we don’t seem to have many starlings. Hope your temporary solution continues to work Sue

i have a scott feeder, with a hole plate, attached on the front for the blue tits but even that the starlings go to, my feeding station has hooks. i have a ceramic egg shaped feeder, and the starlings attack that as well i seem to be succeeding with the ground feeder for now, at least i can see the regular robins, blue tits, great tits it may seem strange for someone that enjoys birds, that i should find the starlings a real pest.

Understandable Ann, as the little birds don’t stand a chance when the starlings visit en mass. Pleased your solution is working for now. Maybe someone else that has the problem on here may be able to give you a solution Sue

It's understandable springtime 66, they just hoover it all up. No time to even taste it 😁

Glad you've found a temporary solution to the starling problem. We dont get them in our garden. Our blackbirds meet me when I put the meal worm out and I leave a little bowl for them which is emptied i instantly no matter how many I seem to put in🤣

I've just decided to put my two wildlife cameras out to catch my two hedgehogs, one is in the place where they come under the fence and the other one is not to far away.
