That is a lovely photo Pete. They really are such characters even from such an early age. Having lost a robin nest to something earlier this year I think I'll put my mind to giving them more safer choices for next season. Any tips?

Hi Sammi, put the box in plenty of cover ( e.g in a dense wall climbing bush ) cut away some of the bush were the entrance to the box is, and have it about 6ft off the ground. This is exactly how i have my box apart from the height which a bit lower. Thats about it really, but they do like a bit of cover,i have mine in a jasmin bush which is reasonably dense.

Oh goodness I've just peeped at a box I'd hidden in the garden ages ago and I think I spot nesting material. I can't believe how excited I am. It is very hard to get to and no camera but I am so happy.

My robins box was supposed to be covered by a Glasnevin bush, unfortunately, it died in the move....maybe I'll try moving it one last time into a clematis bush we have - last ditch attempt this season to get a robins next. Probably too late.

I never heard of a Glasnevin bush so I googled it. Beautiful shrub.

Might not be to late for robins GBH, i've been watching a robin in my garden collecting insects and flying off with them, so i reckon new broods are still happening.

There is still lots of activity around in the garden I saw a dunnock with nesting material in its beak going to the usual spot in a conifer. They always seem to nest there but I always forget to check for the old nest after the season has finished. I hope the Robin chicks haven't hatched today as its absolutely bucketing down.

Just a quick update managed to get a camera on my robin box, took down the side view box to use those cables as i could'nt be asked to run a new cable all the way through the house. Heres a short Vid of a wren checking it out, stay safe everyone and i'll catch up with you all next spring TTFN
