My rooster in the tree box, who had been using another box without a camera so I was totally unaware he was using it, I took it down to paint and was going to pop it back up tomorrow, then saw this guy looking for his house, felt so bad but he has settled into the tree box for now.

I thought I would start 2020 by showing my boxes that are set up. All have cameras, but only two with lights. In the photo is 3 of them, far right corner, in the tree and on the summer house. The 4th is on the house wall out of shot just behind. Most activity is in the tree and summer house box, both these also have roosters in. All are 32mm except the 28mm tree box.

Thanks guys, hope it will be a great season for the birds. Was shocked when checking the video captures after work last night, I had two males roosting Tuesday night, I know one was Boulder. Last night only one male roosting(Boulder) reason being there was a massive scrap in the summer house box between them, I find it hard to watch! Any way Boulder appears to be the victor as the other one flew out of the box after a good two minutes of scrapping and didnt return. Then Boulder went off to the tree box to roost. Job done. Never seen a scrap before in any of my boxes on camera and I hope I dont again. Just to change the subject I received my BIG GARDEN BIRDWATCH pack a few days ago

I can understand you getting upset at watching a scrap Karen - but at least the good news is that Boulder won!

Here is the pic of two BTS taking a look at the box I have on the summer house wall. I have lights in two of my boxes, this one and the corner box which was nested in in 2018. The first pic is Boulder who is roosting in the tree box and the second another male who Boulder had a big scrap with! I havnt posted it as its awful to watch!

Did you have a Charlotte?? I haven’t seen mine, no hog visitors during December / January. I have taken the camera out of one of the houses and put it in a 4th bird box for now. I have to take it down today as I have seen a little pool of water on the floor, so need to see where it’s coming in. Do you have you lights turned on during the day now?

Gorgeous colour Karen, They really don't care about the led lighting do they? I'm glad you are using it from the start this year! I am hoping you get a nest this year, I have everything crossed for you!

I really hope so! Only have the led lights in two of mine so far, but plan to have all four with lights by next year, its a costly business Boulder hopefully will entice one of his ladies into one of my boxes I saw a Sparrow with feathers in its mouth yesterday so they are starting to make nests up here, any sign with yours Paul?

Our female sparrow is still roosting every night Karen, She's brought a few pieces of straw in but nothing major. I think the sparrows normally get going in February but she won't lay eggs until mid march / late march. Sparrows stay loyal to the nest site / each other though, So maybe the one you seen as last years fully built nest and just freshing it up. I remember I left out sparrow nest in one year, The next year they only brought a tiny bit of material in and just fluffed the nest up and started laying.
I take it out every year now though, Box is rotting after 3 broods always needs a good clean.

Hi Karen, I'm sorry to be a pest - but I don't know why I can't see any of the photos you have put on the last couple of days. There's a description from you but that's all I see now, the last photo I can see, is in your message dated 8 January with the photo of your garden. Do you or anybody else know the reason please? I can still see everyone's else's though!
