How odd Paul, I have just noticed a dot on the side of my females face that I hadn’t noticed before. I will try to get a snap that shows it. Everything coming along nicely in your boxes Paul. I still have just the small amount of moss in mine . Wishing my rooster would kindly leave so this pair can get down to business. Sue

I think yours will get a move on this coming week Sue! Little Dolly is well into nest building now, Lots of material added today, Sadly I missed it all turned the camera on at 10:30am she was nest wriggling with all this new material didn't bring nothing in after that! Hopefully this new female "Marilyn" gets started soon, She seemed very interested today. Heres little Dolly settling down for the night, She had to move her material around to clear the corner out where she always roosts

Dreadful image as had to take it from my computer screen with my iPad, but her ‘dot’ is visible. Looks like we have a matching pair Paul. I’ll call mine Dotty Maybe. Sue

Small video of Rocky (our male chases every other bird away fitting name haha) and Dolly in the purple tree box together. Dolly brings in a little bit of moss nothing to write home about but you'll see it in her beak when she enters the box. Fair bit of material in this box now but she is only really added few bits of moss or straw everyday nothing major yet where she is in and out with material! She does come the box all through day and nest wriggle and things though just in no real rush to get her nest finished.

After watching my front box closely this morning since nest material as been brought in, Its TWO different females coming into the box. Sometimes both coming in the same time and not being bothered about eachother at all One was doing nest wriggles before while one was checking out the camera then jumped down and was with the other female both tapping away at the box walls, One female then went out this box and went into my swift box (probably about 1 metre long the wall from it very close) and been removing the poo from that. So it could only be two females going to be interesting to watch this one.

Wow - yeah, two females could be interesting! Have you had this situation before? Was it Malcolm that had the two females and a huge number of chicks a few years ago?

Yes Malcolm and Elizabeth have had that happened 2 or 3 times now I believe Matt,
Yes just looked at their website, It happened in 2013, 2015 and 2016 for them so 3 times, Be amazing for it happen here (never has) but we will see so far its looking like 2 blue tit nests and 1 sparrow but possibly could be 3 blue tits and 1 sparrow which would be same what happened for me in 2016.
See what happens though, You never know with these little birds, Never get my hopes build to much until I see a decent amount of material coming in.

I recall that from a couple of years back....there was great excitement on the forum and wonderful to watch the two females work in tandem sharing the work load. Am I right in saying there was about 21 eggs at one point in one of the nests in 2015/2016? Anyway, best of luck...its very exciting to watch.

Its all going on here Got a female building in my purple tree box, female building in box on the front of the house and material getting brought into my swift box by another female. She is currently ripping all the feathers out the swift box that I had glued down, The swift box is probably less than 1 meter away from the other females box both of them in and out the two boxes crossing eachother. I'll post video updates everything as settled down at the moment my tree box and another one my boxes have decent amount of material in, Swift box just got a small piece of moss so far. Sparrows nest is coming along nicely aswell! Looks like a repeat of 2016 for me, 3 blue tit nests and 1 sparrow nest, But we will see things can change quickly. I am hoping that the two females nesting so close together could possibly just use the same box but one of them is really interested in the swift box now but we will see. Can't keep up with them i'll post some pictures and videos over the coming days.
