Done nothing but rain here for the last 2 days They are only "showers" but these showers happen every hour and when they do the garden gets waterlogged! Same thing happened last week for 4 days straight its bloody freezing here now aswell 14c with a breeze and showers. Good old Liverpool hey! We did have 3 weeks of wall to wall sunshine in may though, That is rare for us!

It's a pity we coudn't do a swap Paul, it's cold here too with a biting wind (which still dries out our garden) cloudy & grim - but not even a shower.

Just a little heads up, The open front robin boxes are only £1.99 in home bargains. I've just picked the last 3 up in my local store, Ok quality for the price, Give them a lick of weather proof paint should get a few years out of them. After the wren nest in open front box this year going to have some these all around the garden, Hopefully robin might set up home aswell.

I have one exactly like those pictured, it is tucked away behind a budlea bush/tree down the side of my summer house, I hope one day the robins notice it but so far I dont think they have I feel if move it to a more noticeable spot they wouldnt be interested as it be too exposed so I feel its a game of hope one day they see it and check it out.

Its been for the most part an excellent season for the birds and one never to forget with the pandemic so sad that we lost a member to this awful disease. Before we know it 2021 will be here and the birds will be hunting again for homes, lets hope life has returned to some normality by then.

Yes Paul, this year has been very good for you - success with your nest boxes & also with your - but you have earned it all, as you are very caring for all birds, animals & humans. I've really enjoyed all your photos & videos & they have cheered me up on dark, depressing days with this pandemic. My sister-in-law died on 1 May & that was a shock, but at least she's with Alan now (Scribe on old forum) & that's some comfort for me. Hopefully I'll still be around next year.

Anyone elses boxes getting ALOT of attention lately? I have 3 blue tit roosters at the moment (was 4 until last week) 2 are females keeping the boxes very clean and one is a messy male. However the last week daily time visits to my boxes have been insane! I don't know if they are doing it due to looking for places to roost over autumn with that just being around the corner, I must clean all my boxes out next week and make changes I wish ready for anymore roosters.
Hope everyone is doing good, Well the small amount of people who are still reading the forum.

Wow sounds busy at yours. I've not been monitoring my boxes much lately. The fence that holds two of the most used boxes is due to be fixed this week so the boxes are down for the moment Then we'll have a good think about which boxes are going where.

Yeah its all going on here Sammi Little ditzy is roosting in the swift box, She's been roosting since before her babies left in this box. She roosted all last autumn and went on to nest in the box next to the swift box so hopefully if she keeps roosting all the way through she will give me a nest next year! I still haven't emptied my boxes yet going to do it all in the next 2 weeks, put the new starling box up and things. Then you spend your time wishes the rest of the year away so we can get to spring!!

Sounds great Paul, I keep checking mine for roosters but nothing so far, lots of visits by the BTs babies and all look to be doing great. I checked the boxes at the cemetery that I put up in my mums memory and once again one has had a successful nest of BTs as have the one at my work place,so 2020 has been great or the birds! I will be giving all boxes a clean in the next few weeks and replacing two for new ones. Roll on next season
