Thanks for the comments everyone Yes i've had great year across my boxes, two blue tit nests, sparrow and of course the Wren. Little springwatch feature was icing on cake of good season. Hopefully 2021 is the same, I love the boxes being so active! Sammi, I just have a standard camera facing the box, One from gardenature. Mine was under the pond canopy thing so didn't need to worry about weather! Hope you've got an active nest in your box! Sparrow update
Small video of the 4 eggs and male sparrow bringing some material in, They are both currently incubating the eggs. should be hatching around 3rd week of the month!

Hungry hog just after midnight demolishing a plate of wet cat meat, Seems to really love the wet cat food this one.
I am about 90% sure this one is breeding in my most hidden hedgehog house, Its down the side of the garden well hidden and protected from any rain. I just watched this one eat the full plate of food and run around by the side of the house and into the hog house, I don't have a camera in this house but If it is a female who's had babies I don't want to open it up because I know she will take the babies somewhere else if she doesn't find it safe, So for once in my life I won't have a peak haha i'll sit back and wait to see if any hoglets show up.

Mine normally don't Karen, At the moment if they have option of Spike dry biscuits, Spike semi moist, Purina one turkey cat biscuits and wet food. This one hog LOVES the wet food though, They normally always go for the Purina one biscuits / semi moist ones. But when this hog comes it finishes the full plate of the wet food.
I know I read about that Karen, That is why I won't open the box. I am pretty sure she's got hoglets though! I set the camera up by the hog house lastnight and she only come out 1 more time for some water and returned quickly.

Paul I hope that she is nesting in your garden if would be fab if she has babies, and wise of you to control yourself not to steal a peek!. I am taking on board all comments on here from others regarding the best for Hoggies. Our visitor is coming about every other night and I have ordered a proper feeding station specially built so Badger cannot get to the food. I have to wait until end of month for delivery. Later on I might get a proper hibernation box from same company. The feeding station comes complete with some tins of Brambles hedgehog food as I am trying all sorts of food to encourage it to keep visiting. I now have two Badgers and a Vixen. Sod the neighbours! I am leaving good quality Badger & Fox food in another part of the garden just in case of any fisticuffs! It has been a good wildlife year for me too Mr Doolittle!

Good luck to both ‘Mr & Mrs Doolittle’, sounds like you are both doing well with all the wildlife visiting your gardens and creating great safe sanctuaries for them. Well done , very envious. Loving reading though.

Such a great pic Paul. It must be really great to identify your chicks. Looking forward to you having a nesting pair from two of your previous nests. Wouldn't that be great. You would have to then put two rings on the chicks to match the parents'colours.

That's great Paul. I see most of my Gt tit chicks at the feeder most days. Hard to count them as they leave and another one arrives. I put a pic of one of them that appeared outside my window yesterday. I also see 5 or 6 wrens feeding in and around my greenhouse, so they must have been a nest in either my garden or nearby. Also young blue tits at the feeder. Any sign of your wrens in the garden ?

Thank you for the comments over the picture Yes seen the wren's about, Hard to get pictures of them because they like to be hidden, But they're fine! If you've got 2 minutes to spare have little watch this from wildlife camera, Just some footage of our pink ring blue tits on the suet feeder. Currently have a little family of 8 long tail tits in the garden aswell using this, So the big fat block goes within a day! This was late yesterday afternoon when they had pretty much demolished it Can see a scruffy looking adult blue tit, This one's been using the mealworms to feed a brood few gardens down.

Love the picture Paul very well composed and your Long Tail video too, brill, all reasonably tolerant of each other aren't they? Also smashing for you to see your 'pinkie' learning to fend for his/herself you must be very very pleased By the way did you see the item on Spring Watch where a chap had them nesting in his garden, such a rare piece of film? Oh any more news on possible hogletts?

Fantastic photo and video Paul. Isn’t it amazing how quickly the chicks learn to fend for themselves and look quite at home among other birds, doesn’t look phased at all by the company of the long tailed tits. Wonderful. Sue

I love the video Paul, fantastic watching them all help themselves! Your "Bird Hotel" (serving up food all day & not just for brekkie) has gone viral, so not only all your gang of birds are taking advantage - but now providing mealworms to a BT family down the road!

Got two blue tit roosters in the boxes for the last week, 1 is in the swift box and 1 is in the side view box, The one in the side view box as been bringing straw in. You can see a piece of it by her tail, Doing nest wriggles doing the day etc, Same thing happened last year in this box! In august female brought loads of moss in and started roosting all the way through until was a massive fight in the box during March of this year. Anyway here are the two roosters. Swift box
Side box
