Wren update, Chicks are close to fledgling! You can only see 2 / 3 beaks in one of these little clips however, We still have 5! I got them out the nest yesterday while mum was out getting food, They look like proper little wrens now so cute! (show you picture below) we have 5 chicks and was 1 unhatched egg, Meaning so lost 2 chicks not bad considering she was doing it alone with no help because she didn't use the mealworms. Anyway video and picture below..

Paul have you heard anything about LiveFoods Direct - they appear to be having problems with supply and delivery.
I ordered some mealies on 1st June ready for my chicks to be coming off the minis today, and coinciding with running out of minis, and so far I haven't had a delivery and their connection to the address they give for queries about the order can't be reached!!
I have emailed them but as yet there has been no reaction - I am up the old proverbial creek, as I can just about eke out the minis to last the day, but there is nowhere local for me to purchase live anything, as my emergency supplier's shop and out-buildings out in the Fen burned down about 6 weeks ago.

Livefooddirect have been awful this year beechnut, My mini's came fast off them in April however my second parcel was lost they didn't even give me replacement just refunded me after a week of emailing! Try these beechnut, I got my last 3 bags off them, free delivery aswell and work out abit cheaper than livefooddirect - www.livefoods4u.co.uk/product-category/mealworms/

Thanks Paul - Funnily I've been using LF4U via E-Bay all the time this year, although with only having the one chick in the first brood, didn't need only one order each of minis and regular, then minis again for the second brood. I just thought I'd go back to LFD for the regular minis, having used them most years previously - maybe I've made the wrong choice!

Wonderful video of her feeding the chicks & that so many have survived. The photo of you holding one in your hand is beautiful, as I've never seen one up close like that.

Ditzy's chicks have fledged, The wren chicks are still here, They aren't expected to fledge until tomorrow - Tuesday be around them dates. Ditzy chicks only went this morning after 22 days, So they actually overstayed! Seen 5 of dolly's pink ring chicks today in the back garden, Its been 2 weeks tomorrow since they fledged still supplying mealworms for them to be fed on. Won't be long until they start using the bird feeders in back now though!

Well done Ditzy, good luck to the little ones I wish mine hung on till day 22! I really didnt think they would all go the same day considering there was 3 days from the first to the last hatching, they would have benefited a few more days, but hey ho they seem to be doing ok, Molly and Ron are feeding them still and are doting parents. Looking forward to seeing the Wrens fledge

Beechnut - Sparrows are incubating eggs at the moment boring stage for them now, I'll update little video tomorrow. I am really pleased today, Dolly's been bringing her chicks to the feeders now 2 weeks after fledgling! They are all feeding themselves now been on the fat balls and suet block this morning. 9 fledged 2 weeks ago and I managed to count all 9 today!! I am so pleased none have been killed, I think the big bushy trees at the back help with all the coverage! I have also been still putting mealworms out so food supply was still going strong. Here's some pictures of one this morning, Pictures was taken through the glass window. P.s Wrens fledged and I missed it nest was empty this morning, Wren is flying into our bushes by the big pond so I am guessing the chicks are in there.

One just flew back under by the big pond it was sitting there for minute or 2 before mum came and got it to follow her back into the bushes by the pond. So cute! all 5 seem to be in the same bush by the pond now bush is pretty thick so it will be safe for them!

Aww that's a bummer Paul missing the wrens fledging - you'll have to get a timer fitted to switch on the cameras at dawn next time!!

What gorgeous photos of your blue tit chicks and wren chick Paul, they are obviously happy to stay around your welcoming garden. Hopefully one of your ringed birds will grace you with a nest one day. Good to hear Ditzy’s chicks fledged too, such amazing results Paul Sue

Lovely pics and videos Paul. Hard to keep up with all the action in your garden. My robins have hatched. I dont know how many as the camera is just facing the nest

Congratulations all round Paul - so pleased that everything went well & lovely video and pictures. It's a shame you missed the wrens, but at least you can see them in your garden. It's been a fabulous year for you with all the birds & chicks staying & feeding, a very busy time for you - even though your bank balance will have plunged a lot feeding them all now - plunging even further I suppose for the rest of the summer & stocking up for Autumn!

Sorry you missed the fledging wrens Paul but good to know they are safe. Now my little heart is in a bit of a flutter as I just glanced at an open fronted box I sort of hid away in a corner of the garden just in case😊 it would appear that there is nesting material in it but if course no camera🤔 What is the external camera you have on your wren box? I'm thinking once I see what stage the nest is at and if I can do it without disturbing them I may put a camera on it. Of course it may be that it's an old nest but until I stake it out I won't know🤞🤞🤞
