I am really excited to see what they have done with all the clips yes Ann,
Last time I spoke to them was Tuesday evening asking if I wanted to see the final edits and stuff, I said no because I want to watch it on the telly rather than knowing before hand.
They just wanted my approval on the final edit but I trust them and I don't want it to be ruined for me haha
Everything is still set for it to be shown Friday, They said the only time it wouldn't be shown is if they need to make time for something else that is happening live or come in last minute with the show being live things sometimes have to be swapped around last minute.
So I won't know what they have done with the footage until I watch it on the telly like everyone else, I am looking forward to it though.
Only thing I have asked of them is to try and credit me as WildlifePaul instead of Paul Scott-Roberts which they said they will try and do for me due to that being what I am known for on twitter.
But whether they credit me as wildlifepaul or just my normal name I am just excited I am being featured on a program I have grown up with and loved with any credit!
If anything changes regarding the date of it being shown i'll update you all but on Tuesday it was all good to be shown tomorrow.

Paul, So glad all went to plan for your birds, it must be very daunting when you are that small and look out of a tiny nest hole to the world outside. Unlike us, we as babies are introduced gradually to sights and smells etc but they just jump in at the deep end! Looking forward to your item on Friday I shall not miss it! Let's hope they all stay safe

So exciting can’t wait I’ve been following Springwatch, fascinating stuff about our BTs, apparently it’s when the nights warm up that they start building their nests, the cold takes too much out of them. also it’s the Birch trees (I always thought it was from Oak trees) they get most of their caterpillars and aphids from, but in recent years the warm nights are later than the catkins on the Birch trees, which is why they need our mealworms

I'll have to see it on catch up.

Is it Oak or Birch tree moth caterpillar for BT's I've always understood it was Oak tree, have Springwatch made a mistake?

Ooooh I would’nt like to contradict Chris... But we have 5 huge Birch trees in our garden and I don’t see them pecking at the catkins much, although the male does seem to feed her green caterpillars when she’s incubating and we’ve no oak trees in the immediate vicinity.

Apparently the 'pecking order' for BTs searching for the caterpillars they prefer is :- Oak, Birch, Hawthorn Maybe where Chris Packham is in the New Forest there are more Birch than Oak Trees?

Yes Amanda, My clips will be shown tonight on the show. He said the only time they would pull it for a different day is if they want show more of a live cam that night or something good happens they want to show. With show being live they need make up time for stuff like that so they cut switch and swap stuff around! But if everything is okay it will be shown tonight not later on in the series.
I am just looking forward with what they do with all the clips and what they say about it, They did tell me to be on "standby" for a quick phone call with host of the show (guessing Chris) when it airs but this isn't set in stone, They just want show the clips and "story" and let them talk about it as far as I am aware but we will see i'll be more than happy with that.
Its interesting about the birch tree convo, We have no oak trees at all in the area but we do have a few birch trees, Our blue tits do always use the birch trees at start of season until they find the mealworms / waxworms. So it could be a case of oaks and birch trees produce just as much caterpillars, Isn't a single oak tree near mine though that is for sure.

I mean Mates could be an overstatement probably won't ever hear off them again now they have the footage to use I think beechnut was probably right when he said its Oak, Birch, Hawthorn if no oak is in the area Birch trees will be the main supply.

Little video of the Robin and Blackbird using the live mealworms in the "fat / suet tree"
I fill this little tub up 3 or so times a day its a free for all robin, sparrows, starlings, blackbird. So they don't get left out being unable to get into the "scott feeders"

Best of Luck Paul...
The Kildare contingent are now sitting down, glass of wine in hand (not the kids of course), waiting for your big BBC debut!
Hope it all goes ahead and you get your air slot...
