Fantastic news on the Wren/Blue tit situation Paul hope all goes well. Unusual for BT's to be so easy going! I have heard of this parenting in mammals but never in birds but you live and learn!

I didn't think it happened myself Kathy, Wasn't until RSPB messaged me after seeing the footage saying its called "Cross species feeding" I've done abit of research on it since, But its incredible to watch.
This year will certainly be one I remember, Not just due the horrible virus thats got us all at standstill, Something nice to worth remembering out of 2020.

Wow, we’ve got a celebrity in our midst. So so pleased for you Paul. I’m afraid I have already told so many people to have a look at this amazing clip By the time it gets to Springwatch everyone will already have seen it . Couldn’t be happening to a nicer person Paul. So excited for you. You will have to change your name now to ‘Wildlife Paul as featured of Springwatch’. Sue

Just had a chat with a woman from springwatch, They have asked me to send the video file over (sent a few over) and they don't know whether the clip will appear on the show yet or just all the springwatch social media with credit to me. Judging by the chat I think they want it more for social media than the show but we will see, I noticed that Chris Peckham already shared my tweet on his twitter yesterday. I'll let you if I get more information guys, But I think its just going to be a social media thing at this point, Now I have had an official chat with them and stuff. But it still gets my little clip out there to more nature lovers so I am still extremely pleased I have noticed the wren visits have dropped now, He is only coming in a handful of times a day, I wonder if this is due to his own brood about to hatch? (Wednesday) Been bloody brilliant watching it regardless lets hope the little wren babies get his full attention going forward!

Either way its great that they acknowledging such a rare event and as you say lots more people will see it too, cool that Chris Packham retweeted it too. I was going to ask you about if he might neglect his own brood, hopefully he wont

Okay maybe I judged it to quick haha, The researchers of the show seen the clips and they have sent me a form to sign for it to be on the show. I don't know what date its going to be shown, But I kinda hope it will be the first show 26th may because its my mums birthday so just be a nice touch. How the f**k is this even happening guys? I don't think I'm allowed to show the form I signed or I would I will ask them what date its likely to be on and let you all know.

At last they have come to their senses Paul!. It must be a rare event in any case and I would think it would be really worth including in the show don't you? I have always loved Chris Packham since the really wild show he did and he was brave enough to do a programme on how there are too many people on the planet & we should reduce breeding. Kudos to him for speaking out when nobody dare tackle this subject.

Ann, Wren eggs hatch tomorrow or Thursday, I'll post video when it happens for sure! Kathy, I like Chris Peckham myself, He's already seen the video and shared it on his twitter so be interesting to see his respond with already knowing about it ahead of it being shown on springwatch. Sue, You call me Paul the annoying one on the forum! Karen, That would be amazing wouldn't it? They have told me they are very interested in seeing my future stuff so who knows. I'm just beyond happy they are showing it on the show, I didn't think that would be happening at all. Thank you for all the nice comments everyone, I will keep you update what is going on with it all, I don't know yet if they want me to give a little interview (reseachers are talking to the producers about it) or if they are just going to show the clip and credit me and talk about it. Either way I am over the moon, I've watched springwatch since my teen years and the fact something of mine will be featured on it I am more than happy! P.s I did put a new clip up yesterday just a quick feed by the Wren, I didn't put it on youtube because its only a 5 second clip but you can see it on twitter if you click my link and scroll down.

You will be just plain old Pauly to me Scotty By the way wonder what the Wren will do at fledging time, will she help to keep the chicks safe or go on her merry way having attended to her maternal needs Might be difficult for you to observe that though but it is an interesting thought? Finally does she remove the poo sacs or is that left to the BT's? Congrats on the confirmation of Springwatch it would be great if they gave you an interview wouldn't it but they must get thousands of different types of videos.

Yes the wren does remove the poo aswell Kathy, Its done it 3 or 4 times over the last few days, Its visits are becoming less now just a handful through the day at this point. First two days was very full on seeing it the same amount has the blue tits. I am thinking maybe he knows his own chicks are due to hatch now and pulled back? I don't know but they are due to hatch tomorrow / Thursday. 8 eggs so they will have big brood if all hatch! Looking forward to watching the wren's nest to be honest, Its a first for me so be nice to see. P.s I like how I get scotty as a nickname on here aswell I have a double barrel name of Paul Scott-Roberts and the scott in my normal life isn't even paid attention too! Always just Robbo and things, So its nice the Scott is shown abit of love online!

Looking forward to that then Paul - I always make a point of watching Springwatch - the other two I don't bother that much about, but there's much more of interest to see on SW, and even more this year - Best of Luck!
