Much the same behaviour at ours. The moss in the one box hasn't increased so a bit of an anti climax. Still most boxes are getting visits still.🤞We just have to be patient.🙂

Still most boxes are getting visits still.🤞We just have to be patient.🙂 Yes I think so Sammi - patience This is only my third year with boxes, but in the year I did get a nest the behaviour was much like this. The birds seemed to do the rounds in the early morning, looking in on boxes just to check that they are still there (and available), and that was it - probably off feeding up for the rest of the day. I won't really lose hope until I see the bluetits flying around with bits of nesting material, like I did last year. If the male is still trying to entice the female into the box, then I am guessing that they haven't started elsewhere yet. Next couple of weeks is crunch time!

Yes, everything noticeably quiet here too? They've downed tools and gone off gallivanting it seems. What do they know that we don't!!!!!!???????

Same here, beautiful weather but the birds have either chosen elsewhere or are biding their time!

Quiet here, but still a couple of quick visits early every morning before they go off and do their thing for the rest of the day.

Not so much as a visit for the past week now Pete. Glorious weather as well, I do try to remain optimistic but I know of one near neighbour with an active bluetit nest in their box already, so hope maybe starting to fade a little bit..

How close is the active nest Matt? Because if its few gardens away its likely be the same male that controls your garden meaning you'd have to hope he gets a second female over the next week or 2. Hope you get a nest this year though what is the neighbours box like?

Matt, so keeping everything crossed for you. Still time yet. Has been very quiet here lately but this morning brought a lovely surprise of a small amount of material into my nest box, so let’s hope they visit you next. Sue

It’s not been overly busy here either. My birds are off looking for food, fattening up. The weather is okay here, a bit overcast and they still aren’t here. Don’t give up, it’s still very early.

Fingers crossed here in Cornwall for you. I'm praying we all get a nest this year. We so need the distraction 🤞

My birds are very quiet today again, the blue tits brought a little bit more moss in this morning and haven’t been back in since. There have been both blue tits and great tits briefly visiting the tree box, there is no material in there anymore though

Anything going on in your boxes Matt? Visits or anything?

Nothing Paul - literally not a single visit to any of the boxes in nearly 2 weeks. I think it is safe to say that it aint happening this year, but I would love to be proved wrong!

Really hope that isn't the case Matt Second female is always an option over the next 2 or so weeks or nest failure elsewhere. I'll keep my eyes peeled for any updates from you, Hope they surprise you in the coming days while the weather is going to be nice.
