Glad you found out how to do the pictures Chris, You should find it easy now. Strange one isn't it? I don't think I have ever seen something like this on the forum, I have seen chicks coming out the cup before going back in but never eggs.

I’m afraid these pictures are out of sync. But I got them on, what more do you want. 😂😂 2nd pic taken on Friday 26. The egg nearest the nest came out this day. Egg in front corner came out the day before.
1st pic taken on Saturday 27th. Shows another egg out on right hand side. This I think went back in quite quickly. No sign of other two. 3rd pic and early one posted by mistake. Anyway on coming home today managed to get a shot of her off nest. 9 eggs neatly in place. 😳😳😳
Has she cleverly got all eggs back in or has she been laying more. Putting last picture on in a mo. If I can remember what to do.😩

Well that is now looking much better Chris. All ship shape and ready to incubate. Wonder if they will all hatch or if she’s allowed some to spoil?. Pictures are great, keep them coming. Sue

Thanks everybody. It’s easy when you know how. It’s the knowing how that gets yer. My son-in-law was a star ,he even wrote down what he’d shown me. I think he probably thought my elderly brain wouldn’t remember it all by the time I got home.😂
Paul does her nest look very shallow ? She seems to have settled down when turning her eggs ,she’s not so boisterous and I think has now got over the first excitement of laying her first egg. A first time bride I suspect. We shall just wait now to see how many hatch.

Good Luck with that then Chris - it certainly looks a well spread out clutch, can she actually cover all nine?

She seems to be able to. The cup seems wide but not very deep she certainly snuggles down well on them.

It does look rather shallow Chris, but sometimes on the tv it can be deceiving, at least it looks like the eggs are back in nest I think if there are still 2 eggs out of the cup Chris, they won’t be viable I’m afraid to say But you have to be happy with 9, that’s a big clutch Chris Elle xx

Bit of a hiccup on Tuesday night. First pic taken at 10.30pm Second 7.30 next morning. It was cold that night and I suspect she didn’t get it back till morning so I’ve written that one off. Haven’t seen any others out since. It will be interesting to see how many hatch after all the ins and outs .

Glad to see your son-in-law helped you with getting your photos on Chris, although it's a shame about one egg being left out. As you say, let's hope she manages to hatch some of the remaining ones.

Not had much chance to look at posts this weekend. I worked out hatching due about Wednesday but on putting TV on this morning first one has arrived. Also one egg out of nest. I hate to think that egg might be on the verge of hatching. 😩 I don’t think there’s been one day when one or two eggs haven’t been out. Sometimes they go back very quickly others quite a long time and a couple I know have been out overnight. The other day I watched her. Two eggs were out ,right in front of her nose. She took no notice whatsoever and they obviously went back in by pure accident. I watched her leave a couple of times and as she flapped her wings it knocked the eggs about not back into the nest while I was watching . Later when I looked they were back in. I hope if any more hatch she won’t start knocking the chicks out. I’m beginning to become a nervous wreck , hate looking in case something else has gone wrong. Is it possible to have one year with no drama..😫

What a nightmare for you ! Are you saying one egg has hatched this morning Chris ? If so, that’s really good news given all the ins and outs. Hope by the time you see this there may be another one or two hatched . Maybe she is a first time mum, but it’s strange when they can see an egg in front of them and just ignore it . Your nerves must be . Sometimes I feel relieved I can’t see what’s going on in mine. Sue

Yes Sue, quite surprised to see a chick today. Obviously at least one hasn’t spoiled. Her nest is very shallow .the chick is sitting on top of the eggs and I’m afraid it might get knocked off. You’re right , this is a nightmare. I almost feel like not looking for at least a week. I’d then know if any were likely to survive. I’m turning into a cowardy custard. Last year when we had to rush the eight orphans to the rescue centre I vowed I’d take the box down but then I thought I couldn’t have three bad years in a row and relented. This will definitely be the last year . I’ll still have boxes but no camera. 😢

Its weird how different the birds of the same species can differ. Some build very deep cups and some shallow.

Good news about the Chris but I do understand about you being a nervous wreck! I don't have any cameras & although in one way it's a shame ... what the eye doesn't see, the heart doesn't grieve over. I'm very lucky & obviously very selfish too, as all the kind members on here put their photos & video clips on, so I know what's happening in my box - but with none of their stress. Of course when something goes wrong I'm very sorry for them & sympathetic, but I don't have it first hand as they & you do.

Yes , I’m steeling myself to look now. This morning another two eggs out , that’s three outside nest. We’ve been out till an hour ago and when I looked still three eggs out and still only one chick hatched. I would have thought more would have hatched by now unless some that have been in and out of the nest have been delayed. Is that possible or would they have become too cold. I know two at least were out overnight.. can the female tell if they’re not going to hatch in some way. Do they tap the shell , I’ve heard some birds do that . If she only has one chick it’s certainly going to be well fed.
