Thank you all for your comments.
You are right Paul, I think she does know what I’m saying cause every time I say something she proves me wrong. Actually going to try this and see if she takes any notice - here goes - “she isn’t roosting in the box yet”, is that anything to worry about? . Still can’t quite believe she is building a nest in such close proximity to us. Never, ever believed it would happen here of all places …………….. Still keeping everything crossed though.
Sammi, had it made with extra holes because the birds so loved my 3 hole concrete box. Think the adults like it cause so much more practical when feeding etc - never get in one another’s way .
Sue

It's looking so cosy. Don't the extra holes give a lovely light on the nest

She definitely thought "I'll show you SueP slagging me off on forums" Does look a cosy nest, I still find it funny how you are getting a blue tit nest on camera in the place you thought it would never happen!!

Is your female still taking in and out Matt? Gone quiet here, just the odd visit each day, still nest wriggling etc but not exactly nest building as such, things seem to have halted, hopefully she is just biding her time, I do seem to recall this happening with yours in past years, as though they have chosen but now need to wait for the right time to properly start.

Really hope things pick up in the coming days, very quiet here too, she started building last weekend and has only been bringing the odd bit in and taking it out again, maybe a quick visit each day, maybe she is biding her time till she gets serious, time will tell.

Lovely little moment towards the end of this video clip, where the male arrives at the nest box entrance with a morsel of something and feeds it to the female, who buzzes her wings whilst being fed. Then he hops down into the nest to see how it's all going before she shoos him away. Still no obvious sign of eggs yet.

Nah, think I’ll keep her now. She has finally decided she needs some soft stuff in there - it’s going everywhere EXCEPT the nest cup . Oh well . Sue

I think I will give it another week and then turn off the cameras or at least change them to hedgehog mode but even they seem to be avoiding the garden

I know the feeling very well Sammi Each day I hope and know it’s just to quiet to happen and all the time the birds are else where

Interesting to see the box location - I did consider putting a box up somewhere similar last year at the front of the house but thought it might not be 'leafy' enough... But your example blows that theory out completely. I might give it a try next year.

Well my season is over before it started. I’ve just seen the blue tit taking wool from the container good luck to you all I will get my fix from off the forum ☹️ Oh that's such a shame. I hope a late comer finds your box . I'm going to put some wool out tomorrow and will probably see mine take some off to other gardens. I think I'm kidding myself thinking I will get ax nest this year. It's just too quiet

Thats interesting sammi about the temperature. Getting warmer in the coming days so fingers crossed. I wish I could find where I had read it. I think I found it that year when a lot of nests were just abandoned mid season and the theory was the temperature had dropped so low that they just lost the nesting urge. If course I could have just dreamt it
