Finally, after 3? long years, I have a GT that has built in my Wallbox. She started building towards the end of March and finally today has left the cup uncovered showing 8 eggs. I am keeping everything crossed that nothing has gone wrong because she hasn't been back for about half an hour!

First egg! Camera weirdly stopped reporting any motion overnight, and the live stream was unavailable until after 6am this morning. Possibly weather related. Mildly concerned about that as it could be moisture or something in the camera (it was absolutely hacking it down with rain last night) Egg #1 visible in the centre of this pic...

Looks like the starlings have their first egg this morning, unfortunately the new camera is in a poor position in relation to the nest cup so I haven't glimpsed it yet and the sound is not working properly, just my luck! but judging by her behaviour this morning I'd say there is an egg in there.

I am taking nothing for granted Benn, I know anything can go wrong so just playing each day as it comes, with fingers and toes crossed. We have very unsettled weather forecast for this coming week with high winds so just hope all stay safe. Good luck with yours and keep us informed of any updates. Sue

Hi Paul
Pretty confident that our Blue tits will nest as she has removed all the droppings and cleans out most days with a couple of visits. Our Great Tits have not re visited the other box for a number of days now. However, the nights have been freezing here over the lovely Easter weekend and now we have torrential rain, hail and gale force winds for the rest of the week. So I reckon it will be late April up here before things get going.
We found a half built Robins nest in our log store 2 weeks ago but the Robin was close by as I lifted the cover to collect some logs. So I think they have moved on which is a shame as no further building has taken place.

Wow! such an advanced nest Sue. Our birds have broken off. Even the nice weather over Easter came with freezing minus 2C nights up here on the hills. Now we have torrential rain and hail stones and gale force winds with heavy rain tomorrow!!! I reckon it will be late April before ours start to build now. Good that you have a serious pair!!!

Great videos Paul! Do you have any sheep nearby? Usually its the sheeps wool the farmers spray paint once they have determined which Ewes are pregnant.

Well, birds are still looking folks. Box 2 today at 10:47 (by their timer) had a great tit doing nest wriggles, and a little after 11:00 a blue tit n the same box also doing a couple of nest wriggles. Still hope. Sue

Has anyone ever seen this before? In the bottom nest there are two blue tits roosting together! Don’t know if it’s a couple or two that both want to claim the box. Sue
