All chicks still in their cosy box. Probably will hold on until tomorrow, typical, it's the only day I'm busy. Fingers crossed though

Maybe, I have had them go from not moving/hopping to just fledging cutting out the middle step. Are they wing stretching?

My three haven’t yet hopped up to the hole - the biggest one’s been venturing beyond the nest cup for a while now, but the other two only started doing that yesterday really. Thinking I might have another day or two still to go.

Oh no! So sorry to hear that! One of my three is smaller, too, so I wonder what will happen. Hope your remaining two make it!

Well, it’s all quiet from the box I think the last one must of gone sometime today, I did see mum feeding this morning early I’m going to open the box later this evening, I really hope it’s not going to be anything upsetting I find

Mum didnt stay in the nest last night...
Now down to two chicks.... unfortunately one of the smaller birds flipped onto its back, closed its eyes and took its last breath this morning....
Lets hope they both make it...

Glad to see the poops are just as humungous in other BT nests! I was beginning to wonder if mine had a digestion problem!

Strange isn't it? Our female has been bringing in nest material too for the past week 🤷🤷 Great videos, they're coming along nicely Ooo that's interesting! Not just me then. I wonder what it's all about? She did the same thing yesterday, too. Here's a pic from earlier today - proper fluffy birdies now.... Day 18 today so I'm guessing fledging's about 3 or 4 days away max.
And a vid:

Such a difference in size and development between them... I don't think it will be too long before the big one makes a run for it...

They have fledged! they either left late yesterday afternoon or early this morning, hopefully the latter as we had torrential rain last night, I believe my other starling box also fledged yesterday so I am now officially starlingless never mind still have the blue tits and the robin chicks yet to hatch plus sparrows and the woodpigeons are back in their nest that was predated earlier by the magpies for a second attempt! Here is a little outside of video of the starlings yesterday before they left sorry about the quality it's the best I can do on my mobile! drive.google.com/file/d/1zgjB3C54icZbi1p-p901p5tCekt5ZKJi/view?usp=sharing

The chicks are really restless today. They have been hopping up to the window ledge and one of them hopped up to the hole.
I think fledging may be tomorrow, just a pain that the day is forecast with rain. Hopefully they'll hang on until it stops

Better news the 2 chicks are looking much more alert and being fed by the female more regularly keeping fingers crossed that they get to fledge
