Nest building rarely starts here in North Yorkshire until late April so got a while yet, but its fun watching them gearing up for it all. Good to hear you have double visits, hope you get lots of action this morning! I have just been sitting looking out in the garden watching a Wren searching for food, so sweet little bids.

Activity has been increasing the past few days, getting a lot of double visits to the Rose box and the Rowan tree box, probably by the same pair. Fingers crossed they pick one to raise their little ones.

You know what these birds are like Sue, no excitement until full nest building begins change their mind like the weather! Haha I fly out to America next Monday aswell (27th February) get home 10th March so hopefully something happens during my time out the country 😂 Going to Disney land in Orlando with Cheryl (literally her favourite place in the world) going to ask her to marry me while over there so it’s a big holiday for me she’s got no clue what’s about to happen! So if I am quiet over the coming weeks that’s why Great to hear Paul! We visited Orlando and the Gulf Coast several times in the 2000's. The best rides used to be in Islands of Adventures park next to the Universal theme park. Busch gardens is also worth visiting for some great roller coaster rides and fabulous gardens and wildlife. It is a hour and 20 mins drive over to Tampa. We land back in Manchester at lunchtime on that Monday 27th February after nearly 7 weeks in Goa, India soaking up the sunshine in 34 degree heat . I will be switching our cameras on next week hopefully to find some visits and roosting. Have a great time with Cheryl.

Wow, that is early Paul. However, the birds know they have to get in first to have a home in your busy garden . Really pleased. Sue

Hi Ann Just catching up on posts today. So happy for your robin experience. I still have one cheeky one who is always happy to take a mealworm from my hand. It really does lift my spirits if things are getting me down Good luck with nesters this season. Valentine's day always seems to see increased interest in our boxes too. I've seen much more great tit interest this year but the bluetits were very busy yesterday checking out all my 4 boxes. I'm hoping one season will see great tits taking a box or maybe sparrows who are a bit few on the ground at the moment.

Hi Sue Yes we have been here so many times before, it is a testing period. Going by other years,I’m hoping this one holds a few surprises. It’s good that you still have visits, let’s hope you have a nest and you have a camera to watch which is a bonus 😊

Hi Ann, lovely to know you are getting some action. Haven’t seen my pair of blue tits for the last couple of days but not had the camera on so may have missed them . I find this waiting for the season to begin quite frustrating with the ‘will they, won’t they’, just trying to remain patient and keeping everything double crossed Sue

I have very few birds around year on year normally a pr of blue tits and great tits with my resident pr of robins and at nesting season you can guarantee a blue tit threesome Log box is the favourite here with the blue tits I’m curious what will happen this year without the plate not long now before I find out not sure where the great tits nest I think up in the trees no others around here have boxes

Just been watching the pr of blue tits in and out of the log box, love is in the air❤️ I’m hoping they have moved over for the great tit having the camera box They were they looking a few weeks ago Either way would be good to have an active camera box Sounds promising, where are you based? I don't think I've seen a single Great Tit knocking about yet. Only had a couple of brief Blue heads scan my box. Actually considering removing the 25mm plate as increasingly seeing people questioning the idea. I do wonder if some Blues are too big for it with all the feeders in the vicinity.

The side view box is a popular one, quite a few forum members have had successful seasons with it, so fingers crossed the BTs will choose yours. I dont think the LED lights bother the birds, they do show up the colours well on the birds and improves all round viewing, but its a personal choice. I look forward to seeing how it all goes, Im in North Yorkshire and the birds are pairing up, exciting times ahaead.

I suspect things will definitely pick up in the coming weeks with the milder weather and lighter days. What sort of a set up do you have regarding box camera etc? I went for the standard Green Feathers WIFI setup and side view box. I had designed a box last year with natural light, but it was all a bit last minute in the end so just have the LED light. It does look a bit like Tesco in there tbh so will probably go natural next year!
