Nest building started yesterday, exactly the same time as last year, but she is a faffer, moss in moss out shake it all about!! Despite lots of activity she is much further on, maybe its her first nest, will see what happens.

Busy busy day today - back and forth all day mostly with feathers. It's getting to the real soft duvet stage now. GT still paying the odd mid-afternoon visit just to peek into the box. Doesn't seem to be too much of a threat at the moment fingers crossed!

Same here Ann. Last 2 years I think they've started before the end of March so the weather is holding them back everywhere. Fingers crossed next week will see some action.

Yes same here horrible Even though we have some sun today we had a chilly day it’s the north east wind that is annoying Keep hoping that’s all for it to improve

Me too. Maybe they like the idea of a box with a bt of character There are other spotless, waspless boxes on offer

To be honest Ann, Its slow this year here! Our nests are normally complete by now, But the weather as been rain rain rain and cold the next few days are going to be sunny and in double figures so I think by the end of next week she will be done which is still late by the standards of past years. I think things will get going for alot of people over the coming days! fingers crossed for you

Thanks Sue. Yes this pair are checking out all their options. I can recognize the female at least as she's got that bit of feather loss around her eyes. Early days

Well must mean they are interested in the box Sammi, otherwise they wouldn’t have chanced ousting them. Keeping everything crossed that things are looking up Sue

There has been some interest in my side view box. The box has been home to a fearless spider who has been capturing anything that dared enter. I think the bluetits had baited off camera and detached the dead and trussed wasp and bumblebee from the roof space They have been in and out poking the carcasses very carefully and then today the female eventually evicted the wasp. The Male looked a bit spooked by them
