I'd say it should be fine Sue...if its not being used for anything else, then there is no extra burden on it. If you hear it whirring more loudly than usual, then I would keep an eye on it.
I found when I had the OBS streaming software open, then opened my email, then the bird diaries page and starting viewing Youtube, and then I was browsing the internet, the laptop got so slow it would hardly work at all and start whirring like crazy!!
So, its seems having this streaming software on in the background constantly is not ideal for everyday computer use.
