Your wife spoke beautifully and she is so right...to have an event like that televised and to celebrate nit just the elites but to have the "casual" runner recognised.
I'm so sorry for her (and your) loss and so close to the event...that must have been so tough...yet, it probably gave her the drive and determination she needed on the day to get her through each mile, running through her sorrow.
Sorry about your injury too... so frustrating.
And yes, it is strange phenomenon when you come in from a run, dripping wet after having hail stones lashing into your face and say "aah, that was great"
