Brilliant that you have Sound Sammi!!! At least you got sorted! In my PM to you I did not think to ask you about something as simple as that 
I agree with GBH about the DVR's sound inputs. My Hikvision 16 channel only has one sound input. I too have channel 1 as the Video/Audio so its set up for the Blue tit box. I do however have a separate Video /Audio selector (pic below) through which I feed the sound from all my cameras, the output from this is connected back to the DVR's single sound input.. I can if I wish then choose which boxes sound to play through channel 1. This box needs no power.
