If the male is trying to get a female into the box then its a different story GBH, But if hes just having a nose around himself will most likely lead to nothing.
My male always does that every year, He will have females building then still do the "rounds" to all my empty boxes over April, This behaviour normally stops when eggs start hatching and he's busy elsewhere.
