Ah Benn good to know there is a fellow runner on the forum...."only a couple of half marathons"...lol!! Great a achievement and one not alot can boast about... sorry to hear about the knee. So frustrating when injury sets in. I've been battling a foot injury now for over a year....still ran the marathon though. Just took it handier. I'm not a speedster by any means anyway.
Yes, I'm allowing this 2km limit be too much of an excuse not to get out though....need to cop on. I do get the feeling that Dublin marathon may not be going ahead this year....again, I'm allowing myself to believe that. I'll get a right shock if it does go ahead...ha,ha!!! But there is still loads of time, even if I've to start from scratch by the time all this is over.
As for the swallow boxes...yes, I'm going to mount them under the eaves of the shed, east facing, side by side...
I don't have an open barn type shed. I must read up a bit more about swallows as I thought they also used nests under the eaves. But now that I recall, it is a shed with open doors that they prefer. That's what we had at the last house and they used to swoop in and out.
Well, I suppose it going to have to be Martins I'm hoping for so!!! I will tailor the cup accordingly and chip out a small semi-circle hole for them so....fingers crossed.
So...bird wise, did get a few visits to the sideview boxe today, things are definitely picking up a bit....Beaktrix is in the long view box still chipping away at the floor, but really, its dreadfully quiet over all compared to two weeks ago.
I really do wish that the activity would go up a notch....especially since we are all at home with the opportunity to enjoy it! Come on birds!!!
