Oh Happy Day!!! Visits resumed this morning, and new material has been brought in....nest building has finally resumed in the long view box. Nothing new in the sideview box. I've relocated the open front Robin box now to East facing side of the wooden shed, in among a re-located mature Glasnevin bush (Solanum crispum)...which will hopefully create great coverage very soon if I haven't killed it. Its a bit sparse at present so chances of a nest this year are slim! My homemade swallow/martin boxes will be ready in a few days...as I didn't have cement or plaster of paris (nor can I get some in this current Covid 19 climate), I decided to make the 'nest cups' out of a thick mixture of moss, twine and real mud, placed onto a small ball, so its needs a good few days for the mold to set hard. Going well so far though. Watch this space. Here are my two nest cups molds drying on the ball - I put the ball onto a double dog bowl holder that I conveniently found in the hedge while also looking for a ball!!!:
Edited to add photo.
