Do not worry GBH! This is quite natural behaviour. What happens is a couple of days of warm weather kicks them off and the nesting instinct goes into overdrive. The instinct is so strong so when this cold easterly comes along they know beforehand. To continue the nesting instinct they simply go into reverse! This keeps them busy and placates the urge so to speak.
Love the Coal tit video! I so hope it takes residence as I think you would be the first on the forum with a camera in the box!!!!
