The boxes and nests need some care. I took out one dead chick last year, with 3 siblings alive in the box. The big work is straightening the poles that the boxes are attached to. Also the boxes made by a volunteer are a worse design, they slip down the pole. pioneersparkbluebirds.blogspot.com/2018/09/repairs-and-fall-check-started.htmlThe poles are of two types. One set is a pole I have to dig a hole for. An easier one to install has a metal rod hammered into rather soft prairie soil, with the pole slipped over it. I do have some trouble pulling out the metal rod at times.
