That is the only downfall to the log boxes Ann,
They do get soaked inside when exposed to rain, They would be perfect on a house wall or where the harsh weather can't get to them.
I had one in our tree for 2016 it was used successful, However come autumn it was soaked, So took it down and replaced it with a new box.
