Funnily enough they was doing this in my area 2 weeks ago Diane, They chopped some branches off each tree on the street outside and put a few nest boxes up on the trees.
So maybe its happening in every area over the coming weeks? My roads got a good number of boxes on the house walls (if the house isn't bought) council put up boxes on the houses few years back when the roofs was done, And 2 weeks ago they put hmm 3 or 4 in the tree's on our street.
Hopefully your box starts getting some attention soon, Although it maybe harder for you to tell with having no camera box, You could be having little visits you are missing.
