It’s quite complicated and depends on what cameras you have.
I use an NVR which is a network video recorder and I use IP cameras using POE (power over the ethernet) so I use a network cable only to power my cameras, no power plug direct to the camera.
If you can let me know what cameras you have a how they connect... a photo of the camera connection would be good to see, I can help you out
