I fully clean the "napper" boxes out once a week Karen, The nappers I've noticed wee and poo in the box sometimes nightmare!
So I give the boxes used for napping a clean, The box that gets used for full sleep I don't touch it because I don't want to make her / him feel unsafe.
I know hedgehogs keep their "nest" for sleeping / having babies clean however the nappers that is a different story haha reminds you of the birds when they roost
