 Karen - if he thought the same as the two of us, then yes! Seriously though, perhaps he didn't fancy having them crawling all over him while he slept? Let's hope he goes to your new box for roosting soon, when he gets back from his holiday. Seeing you talking about earwigs, we had a lot around recently just had to move something (outside like plant pot) and they were crawling all around. Our lone b'tit had another night away then was back. I'm still hoping it won't be frightened away when the scaffolding goes up this month.
