Its happened a few times to me Matt,
Sometimes the bird just takes a minute and flies away other times its in shock and needs more time and sometimes they die.
Maybe it had a bad knock to the head
Hopefully its ok don't feel to bad if it passes away you did all you could I hope its ok though
