We have swifts in the road but they have just returned to their old nests basically, I didn't realise just how hard it is to get them to even come close to having a look at a box.
I was playing the calls aswell, I think this one is going to be a pot luck, Try every year until it happens.
. Gonna give it 5 or 6 years though. I think I have missed the boat, wish I had done this 20 years ago when we had a large colony nearby.You might attract yearlings in July and early August, immature birds who arrive later and look for new nest sites. You have a much better chance than me if you have birds on your street.
