Aw Kathy that’s sad but your health is more important for you at the moment, so mind yourself.
I had 2 little chicks, I think it was about 3/4 years ago, I remember posting all about him (no idea if was male or female) on Malcolm and Elizabeth’s forum. One died early on but the other little fellow lasted till the bitter end despite being half the size of the others. He wasn’t strong enough to fledge either, but with both parents coming back to feed him and encourage him, he finally fledged about a day and a half later, I called him ‘Teeny”. I was rewarded with parents looking after him in my garden for about 3 weeks, he got bigger and bigger and eventually looked like a real bird. Also about two days after he left the nest I noticed our new puppy being fascinated with something in the flowerbeds, after checking, I discovered it was ‘Teeny’ on the ground in distress, so I just picked him up and put him in the bush. We have lots of cats around but he was a fighter so don’t give up on your little fellow.
