oh so so sorry to hear this news sue, you must be upset to say the least, its certainly been a tough season for some of us.
i would have done exactly the same and check the box, its sad to see an empty nest but would be more distressing to see dead chicks.
i would think its two late to have another chance from a pair, but as you say enough is enough for this season.
hoping im not going to find a sad picture, after fledging if martha is successful to see them to that stage.
