Oh yes YorksherLass.. yes, the Hammer Horror films that used to show on a Friday night back in the '60's.. my dad used to let me stay up late to watch (but then I needed someone to go upstairs with me afterwards ha!) and Christopher Lee could have bitten my neck any time he wanted! I was also somewhat in love with Peter Cushing, too!
As for temporary aging to get into an X-film.. well my 2 best friends and I did just the same - only ours was to watch Rosemary's Baby when it first showed. So there we were, all grown up with lipstick and eye shadow, high heels and hair piled up (I have the dvd and I still think it is a great film) - the problem came the following week when there was a U film showing (back in the days when the cinema only had one screen).. we three went along and tried to pay an honest half fare.. it was the same lady taking the money and she recognised us and said we could either speak to the manager about going to an X film or pay an adult fare and which was it to be! We chose the adult fare!
