Beechnut, this happened to us with Great tits some 14 years ago. I wrote to the RSPB magazine who published my letter and said they were positive it would be a second female as the first would still be feeding the fledglings. Hi. I am pretty convinced our great tit is the same female having a 2nd brood. She trills to the male in the nest box which none of our other occupants have ever done. The male is very dominant and chases off any other great tits from the feeder and garden. I would be very surprised if this was a different pair or female.
