The week that I realised it probably wasn't going to happen was at the end of March I think when we got good weather back after 3 weeks of wind and rain. I was quite down in the dumps for a few days - especially when I saw the female with nesting material flying elsewhere - but I think I must have got it all out of my system in one go!
